Working in the field of domestic abuse for 24 years, Hampton Trust are one of the largest UK providers of Respect accredited domestic abuse perpetrator programmes. The pandemic has increased demand for services, placing victims and survivors at increased risk. In response we have continued to review our approach to perpetrators. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team of Domestic Abuse Practitioners and to provide additional support to individuals accessing our service.
Job Title: Headway Worker
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £12,600 per annum
Base: Ashurst / Home working /Other locations within Hampshire
Contract: Fixed until 31st December 2021 (possible extension subject to funding)
Headway Workers will support a team of Domestic Abuse Practitioners to identify individuals with additional needs, prohibiting behaviour change. This could include issues such as housing, substance misuse and health. You will play a crucial role in supporting Domestic Abuse Practitioners to devise care plans and offer individual support to perpetrators. As a Headway Worker you will build strong links with multi-agencies and support perpetrators to access these services. Throughout the intervention you will work closely with the Domestic Abuse Safety Advisors to review risks to adult and child victims and to contribute to safety plans.
For this role is it essential that you have experience of working with vulnerable people, multi-agency work, managing risk, safeguarding concerns, and managing complex caseloads. Experience of working with perpetrators/offenders or victims of domestic abuse, individuals with mental health/substance misuse, and other additional needs is desirable; however, we will consider applications from candidates who demonstrate an aptitude for the role.
