Hampton Trust deliver a range of interventions to address perpetrating and offending behaviour in a bid to reduce harm and increase life choices for individuals accessing our unique services. Sadly, many individuals referred to HT interventions have complex needs that will act as a barrier to positive engagement with holistic programmes which, ultimately will aid their journey to prevent future offending, and improve wellbeing.        

Role:                           Headway Worker

Hours:                        Full time 37.5 hours

Salary:                        £19,000 – 21,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract:                   Until March 2022

Base:                            Ashurst, Southampton, co-located into front line services across


This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the role of the Headway Worker; playing a crucial role in enabling service users referred to Hampton Trust Interventions to identify and address their immediate needs.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the support and signposting of service users around issues such as substance misuse, homelessness, and mental wellbeing. The Headway Worker will build strong links with multi-agencies, develop personal intervention/development plans, and offer strategies and techniques of self-management whilst in a stabilisation period.

For this role is it essential that you have experience of working with vulnerable people, multi-agency work, managing risk, safeguarding concerns, and managing complex caseloads. Experience of working with perpetrators/offenders or victims of domestic abuse, individuals with mental health/substance misuse, and other additional needs is desirable; however, we will consider applications from candidates who demonstrate an aptitude for the role.
