This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the profound effects that domestic abuse can have on children and young people and highlights the importance of recognising and addressing the specific challenges faced by children growing up in abusive environments.

The course explores the intricate ways in which exposure to abuse can shape a child’s well-being and overall development. Participants will gain an understanding of the emotional, psychological, and behavioural responses that may manifest in children who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse. By recognizing these signs and understanding their underlying causes, professionals can play a pivotal role in early intervention and support, and consider individual needs when implementing safeguarding measures.
