  • Job title: Governance & Compliance Manager
  • Working hours: 37.5 Hours per week
  • Salary: Band level 3 –  £45,675 – £50,132 per annum
  • Location: Hybrid working, based in Ashurst, Southampton
  • Contract: Permanent 

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to take a lead role in strengthening governance, compliance, and organisational effectiveness within a respected and growing charity.

Reporting into the Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring Hampton Trust operates within a robust governance framework, adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements, and maintains the policies, systems, and processes necessary to support sustainable growth and high-quality service delivery.

Working closely with the Board of Trustees, Executive Leadership Team, and senior managers, you will help shape organisational strategy while ensuring effective governance, risk management, quality assurance, and compliance across all aspects of the charity’s operations.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in a governance, compliance, or policy management role, preferably within the charity or non-profit sector
  • Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks and policies. Experience in managing risk registers and business continuity plans
  • Understanding of the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and the Data (Use and Access Act) 2025, and their practical application
  • Line management experience, particularly in HR, compliance, or resource management
