- Working hours: 37.5 Hours per week
- Salary: Band 6 – £26,736 – £30,079
- Base: Head Office in Ashurst
- Contract: Permanent
This is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering organisation with a national voice in shaping domestic abuse policy. As part of the Pathways to Change team, you will offer support and guidance to partners and/or ex-partners/family members of individuals referred to Hampton Trust interventions. You will play a key role in engaging, empowering, and, where relevant, safeguarding service users, offering advice and signposting in line with their individual needs.
About the role
This role provides a good understanding of domestic abuse and its impact is essential for this role; training will be given, with further opportunities to learn and gain an understanding of working with people causing harm in their relationships. This work is undertaken primarily by telephone/virtual contact, although there will be opportunities to offer face-to-face contact where appropriate.
What the DASA Does:
- Support for partners and family members: Assistance for current, ex, and new partners, as well as any affected family members
- To make proactive telephone contact with all those whose partners (ex) or family members have been referred to the domestic abuse services, with the aim of carrying out risk/need assessments
- To assist in representing the organisation at required meetings and conferences
- To participate in presentations on the programmes to various forums as required
- Maintain understanding of current practice and issues in domestic abuse, both locally and nationally.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experience of working with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse
- Experience of advice giving, or one-to-one support
- An understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on individuals & children
- Understanding of both static and dynamic risk in relation to domestic abuse
